Dating is off by default. This is how to turn the dance card on, what changes when you do, and what turning it off again leaves where it was.

Turn it on in your settings
A dance card appears. Nothing is announced, nothing appears on your storefront, and nobody who has not turned theirs on can see yours. -
Say who you are outside the work
A short bio, a few photographs, and what you are looking for. This half of your profile is separate from your craft and your shop, and only members with a dance card see it. -
Send an invitation
To one person. It waits on their dance card until they accept or decline, and nothing is said between you until somebody has accepted. -
Or turn it off again
Untick dating in your settings and the dance card and discovery leave your tabs. Your storefront, your calls and your gatherings are untouched.
Good to know
- Nothing is announced when you turn it on or off, so there is no moment anybody else can notice.
- An invitation you no longer mean is kinder withdrawn than left waiting on somebody's card.
The rule that matters
Club business is not a way of asking somebody out
A call, a swap, a commission, an introduction and a gathering are work. Using any of them to make a pass is a conduct matter, and it is the thing members report most often.
The dance card exists so that the other question has one honest place to be asked, between two people who both chose to be asked it. That is what keeps the rest of the club comfortable for everybody else.
Questions, answered
Can members tell that I have switched it on?
Only members who have switched theirs on. To everybody else, and to the entire public side, it does not exist.
Does it show on my storefront?
Never. Buyers, patrons and licensees see your work, and nothing else about you.
What happens to a courtship if I switch it off?
Nothing is sent and nothing is deleted. It stays where it was, and switching dating back on brings you back to it. To end one, withdraw from it first.
Leave it off if you like
It is a switch in your settings and it is nobody's business but yours.
