Pricing

Free to open, then eight per cent

One number does most of the work here. Phyrne takes 8% of what you sell, and nothing at all until you sell something. The club comes with membership. There is no plan to choose.

$0

To open a storefront, and to keep it open

8%

Of every sale, patronage payment and licence

Included

The club, for every member, whether or not they sell

None

Listing fees, monthly fees, or plans to choose between

The cut

We are paid when you are paid, and not before

A buyer pays for a print, a record, a licence or a month of patronage. Phyrne takes 8% with Stripe's processing folded in, the rest goes to your own Stripe account, and Stripe pays it on to your bank.

That is the whole arrangement. No listing fees, no monthly fee to have a shop, no percentage that climbs when you do well, and nothing to pay in a month where you sell nothing.

How payouts work

A shelf of numbered prints in cellophane beside a stamp, an ink pad and a stack of flat mailers

The membership

If you are here for the club and not the counter

Some members do not sell through Phyrne. They are salaried, or represented, or they came for the calls, the swaps, the gatherings and the people. They are members like anyone else: the club comes with membership, not with a storefront, and a member who sells nothing pays nothing.

Change your mind later and tick "Sell my work" in your settings. A storefront is set up for you, and nothing about the club changes.

What the club includes

A long corridor of studio doors with handwritten nameplates, one door open and lit

What is included, at every price

The whole storefront

Physical goods, digital files, originals and editions, patronage tiers, releases and licensing. No tier gates a feature.

The call board

Post as many calls as you have needs. Answer as many as you like. There is no charge for either side.

Gatherings

Members go to gatherings; hosts set their own door price, which is theirs. We take nothing from a door.

The dance card

Switch it on, switch it off. There is no paid tier of dating here and there never will be.

Introductions and mentorship

Included. A mentor may charge for their hours if they want to; that is between the two of you.

Vetting and conduct

Every member read by a person, one code of conduct, enforced. That is the product, not an add-on.

What we will not do

No ads, no boosts, no paid placement, no exceptions

Nobody can pay to be higher in a search, wider on a page, or first in a room. The moment a platform sells attention it starts selling its members, and the club stops being worth belonging to.
I have sold through three platforms. This is the first one where I could work out what I would be paid before I listed anything, and the first where the number did not change once I started doing well.

Questions about money

Why does Phyrne take a cut at all?
Because it pays for the thing you actually came for. The cut funds the vetting, the moderation, the payments plumbing, the call board and the gatherings — and it means we never have to sell ads, data or placement to anybody.
What do members who do not sell pay?
Nothing. The club comes with membership, and the 8% the storefronts pay is what runs it — the applications read by a person, the moderation, the room. Tick "Sell my work" in your settings later and a storefront is set up for you.
What does Stripe charge on top?
Stripe charges us to process every payment, and what it charges varies by card and by country. So our fee folds in a flat 2.9% and 30 cents for it, fixed at the sale, and every order shows that fee and your net before the money moves. Whatever Stripe really charges is ours to settle.
Do buyers need an account?
No. A buyer gives an email address and a card. Patrons and streaming listeners are the same — an email address so we can send a receipt and manage the billing, and nothing else.
Can I leave and take my work with me?
Yes. Your work, your prices, and the name and email address of every buyer and patron are yours, on each order and each tier. Closing a storefront stops new sales and new patrons, and puts the patrons already on a tier on hold: nothing is charged to them until it opens again. Tell them first.

Nothing to pay until somebody buys something

Apply, open a storefront, list one thing. If it never sells you have never paid us anything.
